Bike Lock SkunkLock Stinks So Bad It Makes Thieves Vomit

A new bike lock is using a Pepe Le Pew's trick.

A new bike lock is makes thieves vomit when they try to steal your bike says Californian inventor Daniel Idzkowski. Bike theft is a huge problem everywhere. My method of protection is to ride an old bike around the city, which is not attractive to thieves. If it gets stolen it is just an annoyance to find a new used bike, but its not a financial set back.

If you like to ride your $1,000 bicycle around, you are always in danger that a thieves steals it. Professional bike thieves can break or cut most locks in a minute including the skunklock. The only difference is that the skunklock starts to stink horrendously when cut. A gas inside the lock stinks so bad it is supposed to make people vomit.

"Skunklock is a hardened medium-carbon steel U-Lock that's as difficult to compromise as the strongest U-Locks, AND comes with a surprise: it's pressurized inside with a noxious chemical deterrent that slams the would-be thief with noxious chemicals. The chemicals are so disgusting they induce vomit in the majority of cases, and elicit an instinctive response to run away immediately," according to the product's description.

The Skunklock's gas is supposed to go through gas masks and ruins the clothes the thieves wear. There are some legal regulations in some states that prevents the Skunklock to be sold. The SkunkLock sells for $109 (32% off MSRP) on the Indigogo crowd sourcing platform and ships in June of 2017.
